A sold-out crowd relished the opportunity to see our star-studded side in action, as well as greet their new manager Filippo Inzaghi. Erling Haaland opened the scoring midway through the first half with a powerful right-footed strike across goal before Tijjani Reijnders made the game safe in the second period. The Dutch international showed all his prowess in attacking areas with two fine finishes and could even have come away with a hat-trick if not for an unfortunate slip after rounding goalkeeper Alfred Gomis. All in all, it proved an excellent night’s work a week out from the top-flight’s return.
